If you are a tutor, this may also include personal identification documents (driving licence, passport, disclosure and Barring check and personal banking details), referee details, details of any criminal convictions for the purpose of carrying out a DBS check.

If you pay for our services via a debit or credit card, we will collect payment information for this purpose only. All payment card information is handled by a third party.

How we use your data

We use your information to provide you with access to further information on our website and to supply you with the services you may be interested in securing. Your information will be used to enable us to bill you for the lessons you have had and to contact you concerning our services.

If you are a tutor, your identity documents will allow us to comply with current UK legislation and your bank details will allow us to pay you for the work you have undertaken. In addition, we will use your information to obtain references and request feedback on your suitability to tutor with us. We will also use your personal details relating to any criminal convictions (including a DBS certificate or update service details) to check these against the Disclosure and Barring Service database.

With your consent, we may use your information to let you know about our other products and services that may be of interest to you. If you do not want us to use your data in this way or change your mind about being contacted in the future, please let us know.

We may retain your personal data in order to comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms and conditions, prevent fraud, collect any fees owed, resolve disputes and assist with any investigations and take other actions as permitted by law.

Purpose & Activity

Your personal details (name, and contact information) to enable us to register you as a new customer and to manage and process transactions and our relationship with you. We also use this information to deliver notifications and relevant marketing materials.

Identity verification information to enable us to verify the identity of our tutors using and communication with you via our website and to comply with money laundering regulations.

Credit card information and payment details to facilitate transactions including billing students for lessons provided by All Star Tutors and passing on payments to tutors for lessons taught.

Special categories of personal information including criminal convictions information to enable us to display we have complied with current UK legislation.

Electronic identification data including IP address and information collected through cookies to enable us to analyse the use of the website and help improve its usability

Contractual details including the goods and services provided to enable us to facilitate transactions correctly and to fulfil our legal obligations to keep financial records.

Disclosure of your information

The information you provide may be transferred to third party providers. If you are using the website, we may disclose your personal information to a tutor which may include your name, contact details, address etc in order for them to provide tuition services to you. We use third parties to process information such as credit card information and bank account information. By giving your personal data, you agree to this transfer storing or processing by these third parties. We may disclose your personal information if required to do so by current legislation. We will never give your details to third parties to use your data to enable them to provide you with information regarding unrelated goods or services.

Security & Data Retention

We take our duty to protect your information very seriously and take reasonable steps to protect it from unauthorised access, accidental loss, destruction and damage. Please note that information provided to us via the internet is not totally secure and can be intercepted. Whilst we will take steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee the security of data that you choose to send us electronically and sending such information is entirely at your own risk. We may retain records where necessary to fulfil our regulatory or statutory duties.

In order to present our contents correctly and make them graphically appealing across all browsers, we use script libraries and font libraries such as Google Web Fonts (https://www.google.com/webfonts) on this website. Google Web Fonts are transferred to your browser's cache to avoid multiple loading. If your browser does not support Google Web Fonts or does not allow access, content will be displayed in a default font. 
  • Calling script libraries or font libraries automatically triggers a connection to the library operator. In theory, it is possible – but currently also unclear whether and, if so, for what purposes – that operators of corresponding libraries collect data.

Minors

We understand the importance of protecting children’s privacy, especially in an online environment. The site is not designed for or directed at children. Under no circumstances shall we allow the use of our services by minors without prior consent or authorisation by a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from minors.
